A growing body of research shows that tools like ChatGPT can make us more productive and efficient — and that’s a good thing. But for me, that’s not the real reason to get excited about AI at work. The deeper opportunity lies in how these tools can transform our experience of work itself.

They take care of the mundane, repetitive tasks that drain energy and motivation, freeing us to focus on the work that stretches our creativity, deepens our skills, and connects us to a sense of purpose. In this way, AI isn’t just a tool for productivity. It’s a catalyst for joy, mastery, and meaning — a way to reshape the emotional texture of our working lives.
